Style

I enjoy getting dressed….most days. What I should say is I enjoy having the time to get dressed. Being a stay-at-home mom of two toddlers does not always give me much opportunity for thought. I used to style my outfits, my clothes, my makeup…etc. back when I was, ya know single and childless. I am not going to pretend that the jump between pregnancy #1 and pregnancy #2 wasn’t dramatically different. Just today I was looking back through some of my old photos on my phone trying to organize pictures into folders and get rid of the junk, when I stumbled across some pictures from my first pregnancy. Not gonna lie, I was looking good. My outfits were cute, my hair was done, and I was taking care of myself. Fast forward to the following pregnancy…there are about a fifth the amount of photos which is probably a good thing. Taking care of Little G (my first child) had been taking its toll. Now with 2 kids in and my youngest just turning one, I have started taking better care of myself. My husband deserves to come home to someone that hasn’t just thrown on the same clothes piled on the bedroom floor from the day before. And dang it, I like to look good for myself too. Because it is no secret to any of us that when we look good, we feel good about ourselves as well.
Even though my closet currently resides in Little G’s bedroom/the laundry room (good thing we are remodeling our new home right?!) I am making more of an effort to consciously dress myself whether I stay home all day or not. Life is too short not to. Hopefully this blog will help keep my accountable to this new lifestyle change.
